This is a Chuck’s Roast exclusive! We bought the entire micro-lot of this coffee via the Lalesa Coffee Auction by Ephtah coffee. Lelesa is located within Gedeo which is part of the famed Yirgacheffee coffee region.
Ephtah Specialty Coffee was founded Wubit Bekele with the intention of empowering women farmers and breaking down the barriers holding them back. Ephtah assist farmer through pre-financing, quality improvement training and donates drying beds.
Additionally, Ephtah set up two care centers which give young children a head start in life prior to starting school; the centers also allow mothers to focus on their farms, especially riding the busy harvest season.
In 2023, Ephtah purchased land in Lalesa and built a mill with over four hundred drying beds. Once cherries were delivered to the mill the cherries were put in tanks of water so quakers could be removed. Then the coffee was placed on African beds and dried for approximately fourteen days. A project manager was assigned to each lot of auction coffee in order to maintain an extremely high level of quality control.
Exceptionally clean, very sweet, massive body with a silky mouthfeel. This coffee goes from stone fruit to berries in the cup as it cools. Peach, dark cherry, strawberry, blueberry concord grape.
